{Heart}: Decor-ganize Crafts

This month I'm introducing you to someone who's both crafty AND organized.

Meet Heather
My Photo

the author of Decor-ganize Crafts
Decor-ganize Crafts

She does cute crafty projects like these cleaning wipe covers
Genius!  Those handy little wipes are usually so ugly

And these pillows made out of old sports T-shirts
What a great way to use those shirts that don't fit anymore

She comes up with simple organization projects that make you say "why didn't I think of that?" like her car organizer
Seriously?  Why didn't I think of that?

And she also dabbles in batch cooking/freezing.  Check out what she did with a 40 pound box of chicken
That's a lot of chicken

Heather has loads of crafts and organization tips, so head over to Decor-ganize Crafts right away!

{Heart}: Design Share

Today I'm introducing you to Laura
[me1.jpg]

the creator of Design Share
DESIGN SHARE

You might recognize her as the DIY floor cloth guru

She's turned a plain white tablecloth into a stenciled floor cloth
Doesn't the stenciling look perfect?

Turned a printed tablecloth into a floor cloth
Really?  That's just a tablecloth?

And stenciled over a print to make a floor cloth
It seems like the flowers belong on those stripes

But don't go thinking she's a one trick pony.  Take a look at some of the other amazing things she's done in her house.

What's that?  Some of these projects look familiar to you?  That might be because you saw them on The Nate Berkus Show

If Nate loves her, how could you not?  So head on over to Design Share to see what everyone's gushing about.

{Heart}: Two Twenty One

Quick Disclaimer: Although this post is about two twenty one there's a definite probability slight chance I chose a couple of pictures/projects from Chelsea's wedding planning blog Chelsea gets married

Meet Chelsea

She's the creative mind behind two twenty one

She made tons of adorable DIY's for her recent wedding like this magnificent Card Box

This put's my wrapping paper covered card box to shame

They were a key part of her wedding decor, but now make an adorable addition to her home

You definitely don't need to be getting married to make one (or more) of these
She also makes cheap and easy projects like these Thrifty Huricanes made from Dollar Tree vases and thrift store candlesticks.

These have been on my to do list for a while

So head on over to two twenty one (and if you're planning a wedding make a second stop at Chelsea gets married), to say hi to Chelsea and check out all her wonderful tutorials.

Decision Time

I've been trying to decide what to do about this blog.  I've had some things come up in my personal life that are significantly decreasing that amount of time I have available to dedicate to my blog.  When I started out, I was posting 3 to 4 times a week.  That's not going to happen again anytime soon.  I contemplated just shutting down completely, but that seems too permanent.  I might have more time to blog again at some point, and I wouldn't want to have to start over from square one.  So for now I have to accept that I'm going to be one of those frustrating bloggers who doesn't have any kind of posting schedule.  I'll make sure to get my monthly series posts up (look for it in the next day or two), but other than that, I make no guarantees.  When I finish projects, I'll post them.  If I hear about something exciting, I'll let you know.  But in general, don't expect to hear a whole lot from me for the next little while.  Thank you for your understanding.

Font Change

Thank you to everyone who's given me feedback on my new design so far.  Please keep it coming!  I had multiple comments regarding the clarity of the text font, and I have to say I was a little worried about the readability of it myself.  So since the people have spoken, I've switched to a new font.  What do you guys think?  Is this one better?  Do you like the other font as the post title, or should I switch that to the new font as well?  I can't wait to hear what you have to say!

New Design

You might have noticed I'm in the process of giving my blog a makeover.  I know a lot of people loved the old look, but I decided I wanted something with more of a classic look and a toned down color scheme.  I'm still in the process of making new tab buttons, but before I take the time to get it finished I thought I'd get some feedback.  What do you guys think?  Do you think I'm going in the right direction?  Is there anything you'd change?  I'd love to hear anything you have to say because after all, you're the ones who have to look at it.

Don't forget to check out the first post of my new series {Heart}:

New Series ~ {Heart}:

Thank you to everyone who put in their two cents about my new series.  I really truly appreciate you guys helping me make a decision.  The overwhelming response seemed to be in favor of a series featuring other bloggers, and I have to say I'm really excited about it.  I'm working on the first post right now, so look forward to seeing it later this week.

*Cough* *Cough*

I know I've been promising to show off some finished projects soon, but the universe seems to be against that.  I had all intentions of finishing up a couple different projects this last weekend, but then I got a cold.  A nasty cold that everyone says lasts about two weeks.  I'm about a week in to it and it feels like it's been a week too long.  By the time I get home from work (where I've spent the day feeling sick, having a hard time hearing what customers are saying to me, and feeling foggy and confused all day from the medicine) all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch TV.  I made a big pot of soup on Tuesday, but that's all I've felt like making this week.  Until I saw this:

Cough Drops

A tutorial for homemade cough drops!  I can't guarantee that I'll actually make them, because I don't have candy molds, or a candy thermometer, or powdered sugar... but I'm considering it, because I've been popping lozenges like candy and I'm sure homemade ones would be a lot better for me.
